I like active and adventure travel (hiking, snorkeling, paragliding, geothermal pools, waterfalls, etc.) but also have a particular fondness for old architecture (castles, cathedrals, pyramids, etc.), and I also appreciate art (think Versailles, Louvre, Sistine Chapel, Uffizi, Rijksmuseum, etc.)

Mid-range hotels and AirBnBs work for me. No hostels. I try to travel only with a carry-on and backpack. Planes, trains, automobiles, and ships are OK by me. Coach class.
