Interests
I listen to audiobooks when I exercise, run a poetry circle, write articles, kickbox, bake, and garden. I also love to visit art museums (especially strange modern art)! Academically, I'm involved with some field research projects which will hopefully give me an opportunity to travel. I made a pact with my best friend to do JET or Peace Corps when I get out of college (If you're a current, former, or aspiring JET/PCV hit me up!!!) and hope to go to graduate school afterwards. In my dream world, I'd become a planetary scientist who has biked across every inhabited continent collecting samples and has written a bunch of books about it. We'll see what happens!!!
Travel style
I love adventures and discomfort — camping or couchsurfing (RIP) with biking/hiking/kayaking from place to place. So far, my longest such trip has been a week, but would love to build up to longer trips! I'd also be open to staying in hostels! I'm very good at budgeting and managing my money, but know when something is worth the investment. I'd love to start with short bicycle tours (weekends) and build up from there. I would feel most comfortable traveling with women, but would also travel with men around my age if there are also other women in the group. I don't have a driver's license, so traditional road trips are hard. I've tried WWOOFING but have discovered that it can be pretty exploitative. I don't drink or do drugs, but I promise you I'm really fun at parties (I basically dance like an inflatable car dealership man).
