I first traveled abroad while serving in the Navy in the early 1980s--Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Australia. With my ex-wife and kids, traveled to the Bahamas and Canada (Nova Scotia). More recently, by myself, visited Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Most recently, volunteered in Cambodia for six weeks. I enjoy experiencing other cultures and the natural beauty of the planet.

Travel style
I like to stay in hostels, inexpensive hotels, or Airbnb rooms. Once I arrive, I travel and eat like the locals do. I'm a budget traveler (where "budget" = "not a lot of money").
